A full recording of an all-night performance of Robert Wilson's The Life and Times of Joseph Stalin: An Opera. Recorded on December 21, 1973. In many ways a compilation of all the stage work Wilson had done with the “Byrds,” The Life and Times of Joseph Stalin reworked elements of The Life and Times of Sigmund Freud, Deafman Glance, Overture, and KA MOUNTAIN AND GUARDenia TERRACE into a seven act, 12-hour piece.
Adrian Chiarella’s Leviticus is a beautiful, poignant, enraging, gut-wrenching, and heartbreaking film about the trauma and harm conversion therapy inflicts on young queer people. These misgivings reach their peak after the baby is born, when Valeria, visibly in a state akin to possession, locks her in the fridge when she won’t stop crying through the night
The Last Duel is about rape. Although the film delves into rape culture in medieval Europe, there are many striking similarities to modern rape culture.
I hope that more people will see Joyland, understand the situation, and eventually change themselves and society so we can have a more accommodating world where everyday tragedies like the one depicted in the film do not occur.
