This little Netflix film was very inspirational. It passes the Bechdel test, and features a different worldview with rural Indian representation.
A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, though its feminism may be unintentional, cannot exist without its focus on women reclaiming power. The movie is feminist by definition, even if Amirpour didn’t write it with that in mind. A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night is mesmerizing, poetic, and stunning, both for its portrayal of feminist ideas and its powerful story that is both horrific and subtly romantic at once.
The film seems like an extreme interpretation of the conspiracy theorists that exist in real life. And then, there’s the twist.
Portraying how easy it is to be an ally heavily benefits the majority audience. The more we encourage it, normalize it, and give people the tools to become one, the sooner we can co-exist peacefully.
This Nickelodeon live-action TV series features strong Black representation.
