# Jejak Karmila The story tells of Karmila's unwavering love for Karim (Johan Asaari), the son of wealthy Hamidah (Fauziah Nawi). Karmila makes a living working as a maid for the Zaidi family. Unexpectedly, Zaidi harbors secret feelings for her. Out of love, Karmila quits her job and wants to marry Karim based on love alone. However, Hamidah opposes their relationship. Karim, who truly loves Karmila, chooses to leave home and marry her. However, Karim is inclined towards a carefree lifestyle and negative activities. Karmila is forced to work at a sewing shop owned by Kak Shikin to support her family. Suraya and Nonie are still in school and need Karmila and Karim's attention as parents. One day, Karim is chased by his friends to collect a debt. While fleeing on a motorcycle, Karim hits Aniza, the heavily pregnant wife of Syed Zaidi. That night, the debt collectors return to Karim's house and demand that Karim give them his daughter as collateral to settle his debt.
