Suryono took Jeannette to his hometown of Solo and finally got married, even though the marriage was not approved by Suryono's mother. The love between nations broke and Jeanette returned to France. Meanwhile Suryono, who was lonely, managed to ravish his servant, Trimah.

The cultural insensitivity of 'Slumberland' is discreet, and can be easily overlooked in CGI extravaganza.

If you are a discerning movie watcher and/or an African-American with a modicum of Black consciousness, this film isn’t for you. It would be better to watch the documentary ‘They Fight’ to see the impactful, emotional story of Walter Manigan and the young men of DC’s Ward 8.
