All the inhabitants of the Far Far Away Kingdom are obsessed with three glorious heroes. Their battles are like rock concerts: they draw crowds of fans, merchandise is sold on every corner, and every child dreams of being like them. Among them is forty-year-old Elemelya, a simple-minded and awkward boy who also happens to be the president of the Three Heroes fan club, which includes three other children. At the royal feast, trying to get closer to his idols, Elemelya accidentally disrupts the knights secret operation to capture Koschey Bedrosovich. Koschey disappears along with the royal daughter. Now Elemelya is despised by everyone: the people, the tsar, his own fan club-but most importantly, he has disappointed his idols. To set things right, Elemelya, along with the chatty gusli player Alyoshka, sets off on a long journey to Koshchey's underbelly.
