The Lion King (2019) — Did Disney actually learn anything?
Disney has hopefully learned some lessons since 1994. Are those lessons reflected in the 2019 remake of "The Lion King?"

You Are SO Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah is a 2023 coming-of-age movie that is centered around two 12-year-old girls and their upcoming thirteenth birthdays. A young girl’s bat mitzvah plans comedically unravel and threaten to ruin one of the most important events of her young life.
This movie is focused on friendship troubles, especially during adolescence. Two girls who have been best friends since childhood face conflict when they like the same boy. There is friendship betrayal, which is the main conflict of this coming-of-age movie. Stacy and Lydia are the main characters of the film, as they both have a huge crush on Andy.
Stacy feels betrayed and angry after seeing Lydia and Andy together as a couple, so she secretly gets revenge on her former best friend. The backstabbing symbolizes the damage done to their friendship. Both girls do bad things to each other and decide to break up their friendship.
The title of the movie represents someone being uninvited to a party, which can really destroy friendships. The fight between Stacy and Lydia symbolizes the rising tension and anger between two friends, driving the conflict forward. Viewers see how friendships can be affected by rising tension and other outside factors.
The main conflict is a love triangle: two girls fighting over the same popular boy. What they don't know is that Andy is the main antagonist who tears apart their friendship. The love triangle storyline is a common element found in many teen movies, as it is the main catalyst that can tear apart a friendship. This type of storyline occurs mostly in a school environment.
There is a strong representation of women in this movie. Furthermore, as hinted by the film's title, You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah, viewers see a strong representation of Jewish women, as both Stacy and Lydia are Jewish girls. Sammi Cohen is a female director. Miya Cech is an Asian actress who plays the popular girl at school.
Overall, You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah is an excellent example of friendship troubles during the teenage years.

Stacy and Lydia are BFFs who've always dreamed about having epic bat mitzvahs. But things start to go comically awry when a popular boy and middle school drama threatens their friendship and their rite of passage.
