Eva, who vows to live without regrets following the death of her best friend, Liz. The two girls had alter egos, Vicky and Veronica, and would imagine doing highly questionable things that they would never do in real life that they compiled into The Never List, which Eva vows to complete.
The more biting satire is reserved for those on top of the power structure, such as the police, while those occupying lower levels are given more nuance and likability, even if they operate on the wrong side of the law. This principle gives Deep Cover its heart.
Over the last several years, I have had the privilege of being one of the critics having the opportunity to watch and review several films from writer/director/producer Marcellus Cox, whose efforts are never anything less but grounded, relevant, and steeped in unflinching glimpses illustrating the gripping, inspired, and ever-vacillating realms that make up the human condition.
Being made after the death of Chadwick Boseman will be a hard but exciting ride for this Marvel entry.
