The Devil's Possessed (2006)

The genres of science fiction and fantasy are not exclusively masculine territory. Over the last few decades, female directors have brought to the screen some of the most visually stunning, intellectually daring, and deeply moving works of speculative fiction. From big Hollywood productions like Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel to independent low-budget films, women filmmakers are making a name for themselves around the world.

"Hustlers" returns power to groups that are traditionally deprived of it: women, the working class, and sex workers.

KIMI is the main character of this film and as much as I wish it was Angela Childs played by Zoe Kravitz, it isn't. This film is a splendid mix of mediums, but its strength lies in its simplicity and beautiful message of closeness.

While the camera is objectifying her body to invoke a sexual response in male viewers, Lara Croft still defies the expectations of women in action films.
