The story follows a young man named Omar who lives aimlessly and is consumed by hedonism. To discipline Omar, his father sends him to a village to improve his character and become a useful member of society through martial arts training. Initially, Omar seems to resist, until one day his heart opens after witnessing Pak Daud successfully defeat four armed gangsters in an instant using martial arts knowledge. Throughout the martial arts training sessions with Pak Daud, Omar learns not just techniques and strength, but a way of life to develop noble character. A hidden past concerning Omar's father surfaces—when Omar was young, he underwent surgery using international organ trafficking services in the black market—and now criminals begin to enter his life.
Even with its straightforward premise, “Richard Jewell” is ramped up by exceptional drama. In all honesty, the performances are out of this world. Adrian Chiarella’s Leviticus is a beautiful, poignant, enraging, gut-wrenching, and heartbreaking film about the trauma and harm conversion therapy inflicts on young queer people. Even though its classification as horror holds, the emotional bond between the two main characters, Naim and Ryan, elevates the story into a realistic romantic drama on par with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
