Back in the thirties, Anton Lutenko was forced to leave Lviv and seek success abroad. His wife died during the war, and his daughter Tanya went missing. Anton found the job he dreamed of abroad and became a famous coach. Italian Julia became his impresario, friend and wife. One day, Anton was brought a Soviet magazine, on the cover of which was a young gymnast, master of sports Tatiana Lutsenko. Anton is flying to Kiev with a team of Italian gymnasts. Overall, Altered Carbon: Resleeved is pretty “meh.” It’s cool and all that it takes a different approach from the TV show to make it animated rather than live action, but it doesn’t help that the animation looks like something from a video game.
The film is a documentary focusing on heavy metal in the late 80s and tackles topics like drug addiction, alcoholism, sex, masculinity, and of course, rock and roll. However, this didn’t feel like any documentary I’ve ever seen before.
Facing the world with our fair share of uncertainties and/or apprehensions, many of which, sadly, may be well-founded, is nothing to sneeze at. Influenced and buffeted by the constant barrage of social media, fake news, and general upheaval present in our contemporary reality, what IS real and what's not becomes a blur.
