Y tu Mamá También is a deep journey into the raw sexuality and friendship of the young protagonists, as well as a subtle social and political commentary on Mexico at the time.

Telling a story about the French and Indian Wars from the perspective of the British prioritizes the perspective of the colonizers. 

A commentary on the exploitation of the elderly fueld by the inherent greed of capitalism.

Films can alleviate alienation by presenting realities where the viewers feelings are shared by onscreen characters. The film 'Shrek' can be interpreted as a transgender story.
