According to director Bob Visser, Plan Delta (from 1983) is a 'time fiction', a film that examines rising sea levels in the future. Around the year 2300, a highly developed and a more primitive culture meet after catastrophic flooding. The former have lost their fertility, the latter have remained virile. Then a primitive woman is kidnapped by the other group to safeguard their future.
Escape The Field is a serviceable horror thriller. The characters are easier to remember as horror character tropes. As I wrote this review, I only remembered the characters by their tropes: #FinalGirl, #Everyman, #Badass, #MeanB*/SexyGirl, #Realist/BlackLesbian, and #TheNerd.
Acutely funny and always well-intentioned, Last Week Tonight has a lot of heart for a satirical-news program.
The film is a simple love story reminiscent of stories like The Notebook released in 2004. Sylvie and Robert are rarely actually together in the film, however; time and circumstance keep them away from each other, and the audience waits with bated breath to see them find one another over and over.
'Tuca and Bertie' (2019) is an animated series centering around best friends of the same name as they traverse the challenges of their thirties.
This delightfully odd horror movie presents a whimsically strange alternate reality to younger audiences.
Overall, Altered Carbon: Resleeved is pretty “meh.” It’s cool and all that it takes a different approach from the TV show to make it animated rather than live action, but it doesn’t help that the animation looks like something from a video game.
