Unless a young man in trouble has an extremely attentive family or friend, usually the first sign that he needs help is that he winds up in the county jail. Usually something stupid involving a traffic stop that turns into more; on occasion, he might get into an altercation. Rarely is it because of some kind of bust, law enforcement has pretty much given up on anything that requires much effort in terms of curbing the dregs of society. Well, once a guy is in the system, he is usually in the system for years, and he often encounters a halfway house such as ours at some point. Other than staying clean, life isn't too much different for the young chap at the House. Just Out of County and he is once again on his knees sucking dick. The only difference is that he isn't going to get any party favors because of it.
"A Drowning Man" (2017) explores the unseen aspects of the Refugee Crisis. In, 15 far-too-short minutes, viewers are given a detailed snapshot of what it's like for a refugee to drown in the waters of poverty and otherness while trying to navigate a land whose promise has worn off, and only 'strange' remains.
Gritty and bleak are the best words to describe this film. There’s nothing happy about it.
One of THE most frustrating trends in the mainstream film industry over the last several decades has been the onset of comedy efforts that seem SO focused on being crude and/or gross-out in all ways possible. That, at least for me, makes them no longer funny.
Like millions around the world, I've been waiting four years for the renowned #SnyderCut. I'll never forget sitting in the theater on opening night, witnessing a CGI mouth on Henry Cavill's face about five seconds into Justice League. That's a thing of nightmares if I must say. Anyways, right then and there, I knew I desperately needed Zack Snyder's film.
A wholesome love story that's perfect for fans of romance movies and animal lovers.
