Yara (2021): An Unfocused True Crime Narrative
The trouble with Yara (2021) is that in its attempt to tell the whole story, it struggles to tell a consistently engaging story.

Paul wakes up from a wild New Year's Eve, with little memory of the night before spent at his Mum's social club. When it's revealed that the prize money from the Annual New Year's Eve Karaoke Competition has gone missing Paul fears his good name and reputation are at stake. This whodunnit parody gets to the bottom of a crime where everybody is a suspect.

Twisting what seems to be obvious setups and frameworks is what sets the story structure of Squid Game apart. I appreciate that this narrative is complex but not complicated; an easy enough plot to wrap your head around while still treating the audience like an equal participant in this social commentary
I imagine that it would be a dream job for an actor to play the parts of twin brothers Dominick and Thomas Birdsey in I Know This Much Is True.
The original Mothra is a fun monster movie that has way stronger lore, music, and special effects than most of its contemporaries.
This comedy brings a big surprise to Josh and his family when they move to New York City and struggle to adapt to their new friend.
