"Queen & Slim" Needs a Trim
Queen & Slim is a nice example of representation in both cast and crew

On Sunday, November 24, 2002, Drummers Collective, the world`s premier drum school, celebrated its 25th anniversary with an incredible evening of music. This extraordinary 2-DVD set features fantastic footage of this historic night of music, with performances by some of the most creative and influential drummers and bass players in the world: Steve Gadd & the Gadd Gang, Dave Weckl & the Dave Weckl Band, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, John Patitucci, Victor Wooten, Felix Pastorius, Steve Smith, and the Collective Faculty Ensembles.

You can’t talk to my grandpa about The Sopranos. You can’t talk to him about The Godfather either. Merely by bringing up the subject, you’d be treated to a lecture on how movies and TV want you to believe that all Italians are criminals and mobsters. He won’t watch any of it, in protest.
This is not a story of oppression but a story of liberation.
While Mortals Sleep is enthralling quick-fix horror that offers thrills and excitement with such a short runtime and left me truly impressed with all levels of filmmaking.
Netflix’s Shadow and Bone has a complicated relationship with race. It has a diverse cast, but not without its problems. Based on Leigh Bardugo’s two book series, the show features characters from the Shadow and Bone trilogy, which is very straight and white, and the Six of Crows duology, which is much more diverse. When bringing together a cast and writing about these characters, the team behind the show expanded upon some of the representation missing from the first trilogy, then seemed to take away representation from the duology. Shadow and Bone seems to play a bit of a push and pull game when it comes to portraying diversity onscreen.
