They are met by the owners of the diner, the Curtis family, and after a strange meal and off-putting conversation, they get back in the car and continue on their way. The course of their trip is suddenly changed by a fatal car accident. Wrought with fear and guilt for what they've done, the group returns back to the diner to call the police and for whatever help they can find. What unfolds is a living nightmare that will uncover the terrible truth that even the best intentions are sometimes met with horrific consequences.
