Story of three women: Galina, Svetlana, and Yulia. They live in the town of Zaporizhia, which is along the eastern front of the ongoing war in Ukraine. All three women are mothers, all three have felt the impacts of the war first hand, and all three have decided not to settle for the tragedy being dealt to themselves, to their country and it's people. They are mothers of war, they are War Mothers.
“Synchronic” is special, but it doesn’t succeed in achieving all the objectives it aims for. The film is a science fiction oeuvre which tries to be cerebral at some points, although the original idea is interesting, it only accomplishes to talk about some serious matters superficially.
The film may be a thriller, but I wasn’t thrilled by it. If anything, I was bored and annoyed.
Villeneuve’s Dune is a masterpiece for its crafting process, but references to David Lynch's picture are sometimes too obvious.
The idea of Rosemary's baby but with lesbian partners drew me in, and I was anticipating what the film had in store with its reimagining. Unfortunately, it all felt a little too vague to leave an impact.
