A Queer Review of the Austin Film Festival (2023)
Highlighting the many ways in which AFF 2023 illustrated that the queer experience is not a monolithic one.

Wageningen Wereldstad takes you through the rich history and special significance of Wageningen. Along the banks of the Rhine, a city grew into a symbol of freedom and knowledge. The film explores age-old landscapes, from glacial ridges and river floodplains to hay meadows where agriculture and nature meet. We see how Wageningen developed from a fortified town into an industrial city and ultimately into an internationally recognized city of knowledge, with the university at the heart of global science and innovation. Residents of Wageningen speak at historic locations throughout the city about what connects them to those places. Wageningen Wereldstad is an ode to a city where past, nature, culture, and science come together — and where the flame of freedom continues to burn.
