A man struggling to support his family on the meager wages of his menial job has always dreamed of running his own business. He transforms an old Cadillac into a taxi and faces many challenges trying to run his own taxi services. The interesting people he meets while driving around the city adds to the fun and excitement.
The biggest highlight of the film is easily the performance of Andrew Garfield. In his days since hanging up his Spiderman suit, Garfield has routinely churned out great performances, and Mainstream is no exception. He proves that he is willing to try anything and go anywhere in a character.
Though 'Bound' technically falls under the genres of crime and thriller, the film's heart is a romance between two women.
An aspect of She-Ra that I find refreshing is even though a large portion of the cast is on the LGBTQ+ Spectrum, being gay is never mentioned. While this might initially sound like a negative thing, in the show’s land of Etheria being on the gay spectrum is shown to be so common and normalized that straight isn’t the default. As much as there is to appreciate about narratives revolving around the obstacles that may come from being non-heteronormative, it’s nice to get immersed in a world where no one bats an eye at all to any sort of differing identity.
