Germany in 2020: the state social security systems have been dissolved and will be regulated purely by the private sector from now on. The insurance group TRUST.Wohltat is at the forefront. Well-heeled customers take out pension contracts by buying a "genetically clean" person - a so-called talent - and having them work for TRUST.Wohltat for a good return. 28-year-old Luca Permann is one such talent. His owners order a child from the company - bred from Luca's genetic material. They choose Hannah Bitlik, a young, genetically clean woman, as the surrogate mother. When Luca is confronted with the fact that, contrary to all expectations, he has a genetic defect, he begins to doubt himself for the first time. The child is to be aborted, but Hannah refuses and breaks off contact with TRUST.Wohltat...

Is God Is tells a harrowing tale of retribution, sisterhood, and gender based violence. Far too eerie and clever to be an ordinary slasher, but too gory and merciless to be an ordinary thriller, Is God Is will appeal to the highbrow horror lover with generational trauma anywhere.
Andor is an origin story where each side will do whatever it takes.
‘Better Than Chocolate’ isn’t perfect, but it sure has charm! The characters are great. Some took longer to grow on me than others, but ultimately they’re all compelling! I appreciate how a select few help those around them to grow.
Two Korean sisters must save their family after a ghost tears the family apart.
Crazy Rich Asians. The title is tacky, but the actual movie is both heartwarming and cosmopolitan. After all, it takes place in Singapore!
Dramatic Horror!!! Wait, what?? Did you say "dramatic horror"?? IS there such a thing?? I mean, TRULY. Well, if San Francisco-based, Pakistani-born independent filmmaker Dr. Hassan Zee and this film critic have anything to say about it, there IS such a beast as experienced through the director's newest feature film set to officially debut October 4th in the City by the Bay. Folks, indie film will always be a bastion of experimentation and originality, and this film for me fits that bill.
