Lau (Tony Leung Chiu Wai) is a policeman who meets his true love (Korean actress Chiu Ngan Suk) in the emergency room of a hospital. He's being treated for severe wounds received in the line of duty, and she's being treated for an attempted suicide! But she dies, and Lau is unwilling to let her go. He pursues her case, leading to encounters with a variety of quirky individuals (including Tats Lau and Theresa Lee), and finally a freak time accident that transports the whole motley group to the era of the Three Kingdoms! Can he find a way to reclaim his love and make it back to the future?
At first glance, one wouldn't think John Carpenter's cult classic would be a thematic double-billing - or that Free Guy would be worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as They Live - but the two films of vastly different genres have more similarities upon further examination.
Overall, The Shining is a great film to watch for its atmosphere and setting. While the characters’ portrayals could’ve been more accurate to the book, they’re all still memorable nonetheless.
Escape The Field is a serviceable horror thriller. The characters are easier to remember as horror character tropes. As I wrote this review, I only remembered the characters by their tropes: #FinalGirl, #Everyman, #Badass, #MeanB*/SexyGirl, #Realist/BlackLesbian, and #TheNerd.

The shattering of what we strive to maintain as reality. It is certainly truthful to state that most, if not all, of us have experienced moments of genuine mental stress. Regardless of what might be the cause, the sheer unsettledness, the pressure that weighs upon us is a tangible force that CAN seem insurmountable. However, more often than not, this is only a temporary , one we can come through and simply move on from.
'The Lost Daughter' doesn't paint over the choices Leda and Nina make as mothers as right or wrong but examines the messy in-between.
