Ever since the death of her first dominant, William Frederick, Emma has struggled to adjust to life as a submissive without him. Unable to form lasting connections with other men, Emma chooses to abandon the lifestyle completely. But, her world is flipped upside down when she meets Mariah, a sassy young woman eager to explore the BDSM world. Seeing much of her former self in this young woman, Emma takes it upon herself to educate Mariah about life as a submissive and volunteers to act as her temporary dominant. However, things become complicated when Mariah grows attached to Emma and wants their arrangement to become a permanent one. Will Emma be able to walk away from the life she always loved and a girl who desperately needs her? Or is there more in the BDSM world for Emma than she ever fully realized?

"The Father" is a Depressing But Insightful Look at Dementia
With The Father, writer-director Florian Zeller- who wrote and developed the play upon which the film is based- pulls no punches as he confidently makes every effort to put the audience in the mind of someone whose grip on reality has all but vanished. It’s a dazzling testament to Zeller’s abilities as a director as he makes his first transition from stage to film appear as if he’s been working behind a camera his entire career. The dialogue he fashions with co-writer Christopher Hampton, along with the work of production designers Peter Francis and Cathy Featherstone, collectively makes the downward spiral of dementia startlingly tangible, doing so in a way that can be comprehended by everyone except the person it directly affects.
Escape The Field Fails to Escape The Crowded Field
Escape The Field is a serviceable horror thriller. The characters are easier to remember as horror character tropes. As I wrote this review, I only remembered the characters by their tropes: #FinalGirl, #Everyman, #Badass, #MeanB*/SexyGirl, #Realist/BlackLesbian, and #TheNerd.
