On a winter afternoon, with a storm about to break, Dani follows her cousins Nora and Inés to a cube-shaped shelter in the middle of the woods. There, they perform a ritual to hold back the rain and save their friend—"the Presence." Dani must follow a set of rules for the ritual to succeed, but the moment Nora sacrifices an earthworm, she can no longer bear it and breaks the cardinal rule: never leave the cube.
