Taoist Yan Chi Xia and scholar Ning Cai Chen battle the tree demon Grandma at Lanruo Temple to rescue Nie Xiao Qian. During the fight, the golden seal of the universe accidentally transports them to the modern era. There, they save a woman named Yuan Yuan from a demon and temporarily stay at her home, causing chaos in her life. Meanwhile, Grandma and a snake demon also arrive in the modern world, plotting to bring Lanruo Temple into the present and turn Earth into a demon paradise. Unbeknownst to them, they are pawns in Grandma’s larger scheme. Away from the temple too long, Nie Xiao Qian begins to lose her powers and faces possible disappearance.
