This Transgender Day of Remembrance, let us take a look at six films about transgender children grappling with their identity in a heteronormative world that despises their kind and tries its best to invalidate their feelings.

It’s not a film worthy of rewatch, but it may still resonate somewhat with those who need a story like this. It is a genuine, if flimsy attempt at a coming-of-age tale. Were the film to be directed by someone with experiences more similar to Anne, it would likely be more powerful--as it is, it feels like a man’s perspective of what it means to come to terms with your identity as a lesbian.

Soul takes intangible concepts like self and personality and makes them completely palpable and simple to digest.

"Clifford the Big Red Dog" retells the adventures of Emily and her striking puppy to highlight the joy of being different and inspire another wave of young fans.
