Tengiz marries Madiyar, an only child, and is forced to conceive within a month of their marriage. At her mother-in-law’s insistence, she hops on a train to go to the hospital and visit her parents along the way. There she learns that the train vendor Anargul and Madiyar may be having an affair.
Though often underwhelming as a whole, Nevertheless is worth the watch because of the relationship between Sol and Jiwan. It is a stunning, refreshing take on the friends to lovers trope that LGBTQ media has been missing.
One Night in Miami... did not frame the racism and bigotry as something that could be solved by quality time spent between individuals. Instead, it featured four different legends of Black History together in one room disagreeing for about 2/3 of the film.
This film was filled with great plot points. Unfortunately, they all contradicted each other and clashed. Had the premise of Awake been more consistent and accurately portrayed the real world aspect, I think this could have been an extreme success.
For viewers who love eating burgers, shakes and fries on the go along with a tasty side of nostalgia.
