Mark Hicks and Ivan Martinez are long time friends and video-gamers. When Ivan beats a new horror video game, he decides to pass it on to his friends. Mark and his girlfriend Jamie Perkins soon discover that there's much more to this game than just having fun.
I highly recommend Dark Waters. It’s a highly engrossing picture, which lends itself to cautionary storytelling. The dark information continually grows, inspiring change and accountability altogether. Overall, Haynes’ picture will not be known for its inclusiveness--but it will be known for being a fantastic, engrossing film.
The film reminds us to remember the people who had the courage and dignity that had made the world better, even when the memory was absent.
I can say without question, that this is the first movie I’ve ever seen where art imitates life so much that I could 100% identify with it on a personal level. The predominately Black cast of characters are people with hopes, dreams, fears, and ambitions.
'Motherless Brooklyn' is a 1950s whodunit made by its star, Edward Norton. Like most detective films in this setting, the cast is mostly white males (with a few notable exceptions).
Life may find a way, but is it worth testing its fierceness and how far it will go?
