Soup Frog is the soliloquy of a saucy post-human tart. Inspired by ecofeminist conceptions of symbiosis (Haraway, Butler), and particularly by the theories of evolutionary microbiologist Lynn Margulis. Written, performed, and captioned in Damiá - a novel, fully-functioning language with an extensive grammar and a vocabulary of around 10,000 words, created over the course of several decades, which seeks to "explore a queer language and its performative potential."
This film was filled with great plot points. Unfortunately, they all contradicted each other and clashed. Had the premise of Awake been more consistent and accurately portrayed the real world aspect, I think this could have been an extreme success.
I hate the idea that animation’s for kids; just because it’s animated doesn’t mean that it’s some silly cartoon and shouldn’t be taken seriously.

In all actuality, “Just Mercy” should be labeled a “wall punching narrative.” Constantly, the flick throws high forms of adversity our way, amping up our most inner levels of discomfort. Filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton wonderfully paces the film in such a way that replicates the slow-burn nature of justice.
