Like most young people, Leviticus is imperfect. But I love it anyways.

After landing her dream job, Ma decides to go to a bar to celebrate with her friends, Antônio and Pedro. Upon arriving, she encounters the bar owner, Gilberto, an intimidating figure with a terrifying hobby. Amidst jukebox music and drinking, their fate is sealed by Gilberto, while bonds of friendship will be tested.

I suppose you could argue that the story wasn’t what Director James Cameron was aiming for, it was the visuals. The spectacle of it all was the point, and it certainly shows.
2026 ranks highest in Oscars history for its representation of minorities in all categories, and that’s definitely something to be celebrated.
