Mt Isa neighbours, Rex and Frankie, hit the road to Sydney's Mardi Gras to piece together the missing pieces of their lives before they lose all the colour in their lives and fade away forever. As the landscape changes from vast outback to eucalypt woodland to shiny urban sprawl, their banged-up Corolla gets a flat tyre, the engine melts, and all seems lost when they swerve to avoid a feral pig.
