A woman discovers with astonishment that her husband has committed suicide. Sumida in great pain decides to investigate the reasons that drove her husband to make a decision as tragic. But the symptoms of incipient disease begin to limit their target.
There were too many irrelevant parts that could have been shortened, and too many characters that didn't advance the plot. Either way, some things didn't add up. This was just another played out plot with little, if any, originality in it. By the end of the film, I wasn't happy that she finally got her freedom, I was happy that it was finally over.
Laggies is a fantastic movie, filled with down-to-earth characters, transcendent themes, and witty comedy
Barry Jenkins' masterpiece holds up as the story of a lifetime centered on the intersection of Blackness and gay identity.
"The Old Guard" doesn't break ground, but it sure does bust boredom and fictional heads as an entertaining action romp on Netflix.
