Three old friends go on a road trip of a lifetime. All three were Peshmerga fighters 80’s, who fought against the Saddam regime in Northern Iraq, Kurdistan. They were members of the Iraqi communist party called “al Ansar” and non Kurds, unlike the rest of the Peshmerga today. The film documents their trip in Kurdistan where their memories come to life again. This coming of age story is filled with humor and political passion of the few remaining communist Arabs.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie comes on the heels of its billion-dollar grossing predecessor, and seeks to do absolutely nothing other than repeat its success. In this, the film is eminently effective. If you have seen the previous film, you can expect something extremely similar in this package. That is, a barrage of references to Nintendo intellectual property wrapped in a plot that provides the thinnest layer of emotional payoff for the characters.
The story is a moving sentiment of letting go of the past and putting trust and faith into others. Though you come into this world alone, surrounding yourself with others that support you and want to help is the greatest gift life could ever give.
I didn’t love Expecting Amy, the mini-series following Amy Schumer’s pregnancy, but it brought up a lot of great unspoken side-effects of working and growing a human in America.
