His life story is still breathtaking today. He lived in the golden age of mountaineering. Pochylý is largely responsible for the fact that the space for achievements and problem solving in the Tatras has narrowed. He solved all the most significant challenges of the steep Tatra walls, thus indelibly writing himself into the history of Czechoslovak mountaineering.

Earth and Blood is slow, but it still has it’s entertaining moments. If you’re into thrillers, or want to watch something new, then this film might be for you. As for me, Earth and Blood was tolerable enough.
