Lee Daniels’s Billie Holiday biopic The United States vs. Billie Holiday was released on February 26th, 2021, and my immediate reaction to it was one of discomfort.

The film tells the story of Sırrı Derman, who thinks he'll act in a commercial with Paris Hilton. Sırrı Derman, who played in an advertisement directed by Sinan Çetin years ago, learns that Çetin cast him in an commercial he'll shoot with Paris Hilton. The director's assistant made a wrong call and called Sırrı Derman instead of the famous actor Sırrı Ferman. Sırrı Derman thinks that he casted for shooting an commercial with Paris Hilton, and this is a sign that he is destined to marry Paris Hilton. The arrival of both Sırrı to the area where the shootings will take place causes confusion.
