'Jungle Beat: The Movie' (2021)
This animated kids' movie shows viewers two different species--jungle animals and aliens--and how both species coexist.

In this hysterical and deeply moving play, a group of old friends find themselves at Harlem's Ortiz Funeral Home to mourn the death of a beloved nun from their childhood. But at the funeral home, trouble arises as Sister Rose’s body is stolen. Our Lady of 121st Street by Stephen Adly Guirgis paints an explosive picture of how old habits die hard as longtime friends reopen forgotten wounds.

Halle's belting, crystal clear notes, and warm tone infused something into this blockbuster that I thoroughly enjoy.
The gentle, emotional nuances of Evan’s coming-of-age story would have been so beneficial to have incorporated into the life of a POC character. Showing a Black, Asian or Latino young man that is afforded the space to be vulnerable, flawed and sensitive while driving a compelling and widely-loved narrative would have been a game changer.
'Reservation Dogs' is stacked with an array of Native American performers and crew telling their own story.
Pressure is an unambiguously great movie, lead by convincing performances, a well-crafted script, good direction, and at least some social awareness.
