Me and 'My Best Friend Anne Frank'

My Best Friend Anne Frank (2021) is a Dutch drama film that focuses on the Holocaust, a historical time period during World War II when European Jews were arrested and sent to concentration camps. The film is based on the real-life friendship between Anne Frank and Hannah Goslar, from Nazi-occupied Amsterdam to their harrowing reunion in a concentration camp. This film has a historical impact on viewers in today's generation because the film focuses on European Jews who suffered a traumatic life during World War II. The majority of the film takes place before Anne Frank and her family went into hiding in the Secret Annex for almost two years until they were discovered by the Nazis. Aiko Beemsterboer, the actress who plays the main character, has her hair styled similar to the original girl who grew up in the Holocaust period. Throughout this film, viewers see the harsh treatment of European Jews, especially in the concentration camp scenes. Anne Frank and her best friend Hannah Goslar are two Jewish girls who grew up in Nazi-occupied lands. Both girls witness the Nazis harassing and arresting hundreds of Jewish families. This film has a strong representation of women as well as European Jews. It's important for viewers to learn about the Holocaust period through My Best Friend Anne Frank because of its impact on a religious group. Jewish people still talk about the Holocaust today and how one Jewish girl's diary captures the whole scene of what was happening to millions of European Jews. Anne Frank writes about her friendship with Hannah Goslar in her diary and all of the moments they shared together before going into hiding. Overall, this film has a strong representation of women and European Jews, as the film is based on The Diary of a Young Girl.
