A sweet slice-of-life anime that visualizes all the ways we creatively hide our vulnerabilities from the world.

A refreshing twist is that all the kids’ powers are…kind of useless. There’s a kid who can only move in slow motion, a kid who has every power in the world but can only use them randomly, and our main character Missy who has no powers at all. The thesis of the film seems to be that it doesn’t matter what kind of powers you have, its the way you use them, which is good for the warm and fuzzies.

When Juana tries real sushi for the first time, she is immediatley smitten by it and discovers a passion she never knew she had.

If you are a discerning movie watcher and/or an African-American with a modicum of Black consciousness, this film isn’t for you. It would be better to watch the documentary ‘They Fight’ to see the impactful, emotional story of Walter Manigan and the young men of DC’s Ward 8. 

This comedy brings a big surprise to Josh and his family when they move to New York City and struggle to adapt to their new friend.
