Masami of Aestheticians (Aya Sasami) graduated from his hometown vocational school two years ago, rolled into the former lover's Naoki (Ota Osamu) who had been in Tokyo earlier, began living together. However, in an era in which she became sexless with a lonely life, she exclaimed her sociability and left home to part with her. Such Masami wishes to visit Misa (Misa Saki) of my aunt who runs a coffee shop with her husband in the downtown of Tokyo and want me to stay for a while. Misa of good looking was accepted pleasantly for the wishes of the unbelievable Masami. However, her husband Takuya (Yasushi Takemoto) was a big objection. Honey Don't! is a chaotic queer noir that's part detective story, part midnight movie madness. Margaret Qualley is fantastic as the wise-cracking private eye Honey, with Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans adding their own dry humor to the mix. The mystery itself is pretty loose, but the film makes up for it with crackling sexual tension, weird side characters, and razor-sharp dialogue. It's messy and uneven, but in the best possible way.
As one of the women said in the film, friendship in your teens is “as important as any lover” and it’s clear they lived that philosophy throughout their early adult lives as well.
