"Backrooms" Succeeds

Shankar and Buddhu are identical twins. Shankar, unbeknownst to Buddhu, has found love with a painter; Buddhu meanwhile falls in love with the painter’s sister, who works at his office. As neither sister knows her lover has a twin, and Buddhu is unaware of Shankar’s romance, confusion ensues.

When you think of the horror genre, the LGBTQ+ community is probably one of the last things you think of. However, horror is much more queer-coded than you may think.
The film does not add anything to its own conversation or genre, and falls flat once it’s about to end and must declare some sort of conclusion.
A family drama is woven with quiet yet powerful forces of words and nature.
