Fourteen years later, on the eve of the Japanese defeat. Zhang Wenlin is on tenterhooks and wants to move the looted relics and treasures to Switzerland. Zheng Yi, a guerrilla leader of the Resistance, and Zhang Lihua, a sniper, are ordered by their superiors to go down to the mountains to assassinate Zhang Wenlin and the Japanese commander to stop the flow of relics and treasures.

Lynne Ramsay has presented a film that forces us to look at the realness of life, and what happens when the promise of what should make you whole fails.
