Drawing on personal recordings Judy Garland made while preparing to write her autobiography, this documentary recounts the actress and singer's life largely in her own words. Through archival footage, interviews, photographs, and musical performances, it traces her rise to Hollywood stardom, the pressures of the studio system, and the personal struggles that accompanied her extraordinary career.
