Several decades pass when Aida suddenly appears and contacts Jack to be her guardian at her wedding ceremony. Jack is reluctant but agrees to meet Aida and her family again. This brief reunion moves Jack's heart to become more involved in Aida's life, so much so that he is willing to buy and move into a house next to Aida's home. However, Jack's actions cause distress and turmoil to his ex-wife, Salina, and her husband Rahmat, who have raised Aida since Jack's absence. In his attempt to repair his relationship with Aida, he faces the mistakes and regrets of his past and learns the true meaning of family, love, and forgiveness.
