Он влюблен в красавицу Тамару, которая мечтает стать известной певицей. Случайно попав на психологические курсы, Павел знакомится с Таней, скромной, незаметной молодой женщиной. Он обращает на нее внимание после того, как она, отрабатывая задание психолога, с глубоким чувством произносит монолог на тему «Если бы я тебя любила».
