There’s enough evidence to insinuate that What We Do in the Shadows is intentionally queer-coded.
The film reminds us to remember the people who had the courage and dignity that had made the world better, even when the memory was absent.
This is not a slavery story, it is a freedom story. The viewers only see Harriet as a slave for the first few minutes of the film. To me, it felt like watching the origin story of a superhero…which is both good and bad.
Slytherin is painted negatively for the traits the members of this house embody. Although Slytherin students are ambitious, cunning, and determined, they are more.
Andor is an origin story where each side will do whatever it takes.
