“An American Pickle” Should Have Stayed in the Jar
Wacky antics ensue when a 100-year-old Jewish man wakes up from a pickled hibernation in the modern world.

The film is a journey consisting of random meetings and conversations with representatives of the small Fino-Ugric people. The director is interested in seasonal rituals, household magic and dreams of besermyans, but as soon as it comes to spaces of communication with supernatural forces, the guest is sharply given to understand where his place is.

This is not a slavery story, it is a freedom story. The viewers only see Harriet as a slave for the first few minutes of the film. To me, it felt like watching the origin story of a superhero…which is both good and bad.
Severance is about breaking down facades and confronting old models that were once frameworks of our lives. The somewhat subtle message to me is it’s never too late to fall in love, no matter your insecurities.
'The Patient' is bound by four walls and a mediocre ending that leaves you wanting more.
Lucifer is a show with both comedy and drama, but most importantly, has charm. Well aware it’s following a silly premise, the show does so in a way that’s entertaining. Sure, sometimes it can be cheesy, but fun cheese.
This holiday movie serves as the prequel to the TV series The Really Loud House.
