Hit me Baby chronicles a week in the life of Hatice, a female boxer, right before she attends the national tryouts. As a lower class woman without a college degree and any qualifications Hatice has only two options: either succeed in sports or get married. However, all her efforts and drive take a big hit after she loses her match-up. Even though Hatice tries to climb up to success, there comes a point where she can no longer resist the people around her who are always trying to bring her down and slowly starts turning into the woman they always expected her to be.

If you are a discerning movie watcher and/or an African-American with a modicum of Black consciousness, this film isn’t for you. It would be better to watch the documentary ‘They Fight’ to see the impactful, emotional story of Walter Manigan and the young men of DC’s Ward 8.
At its heart, it’s a fond tribute to an influential artist and thus one that can speak to everyone’s inner artist, even if it lacks the sincere commentary you may wish to see.

Overall, Altered Carbon: Resleeved is pretty “meh.” It’s cool and all that it takes a different approach from the TV show to make it animated rather than live action, but it doesn’t help that the animation looks like something from a video game.
