“Birds of Prey” and the Fantabulous Emancipation from the DCEU
Birds of Prey has some of the best stunt work and choreography of 2020, and was the most fun I’d had in an action film since John Wick 3.

Six girls participate in the boot camp for assassins. The instructor of the boot camp is the legendary hitman, Kunioka. At first, they repel each other, but the girls gradually develop friendships while enduring the hard training. By chance, the girls get involved in a life-threatening battle with a group of anarchist hitmen.

While it is more than established that Halston’s life is far from a fairytale, the narrative suffers as a result of the decision to revolve more around sex and drugs than his artistry, it likely does a disservice to his cultural impact by pulling focus from his achievements.
'Playing with Fire' was clearly a film made for a kid or tween-ish audience. Keeping that in mind, I thought 'Playing with Fire' was alright, though it did portray some harmful stereotypes.
The original series is now on Netflix, you should definitely give it a watch. And if you’ve already seen it, watch it again.
