Women can have it all! Right?! A review of HBOMax’s “Expecting Amy”
I didn’t love Expecting Amy, the mini-series following Amy Schumer’s pregnancy, but it brought up a lot of great unspoken side-effects of working and growing a human in America.

The story of an Irish brewmaster who travels to America to reconnect with his daughter and transforms an old brewery into an authentic Irish pub. A story of redemption and faith through a heartfelt mix of romance, comedy, and drama.

The film exhibits a respect for the craft and an empathy for human tribulations that have historically been ignored.
On top of the phenomenal acting, and great dialogue between the two characters, the cinematography was ravishing! The sound was outstanding! The production design was simple, yet intrinsic. The minimalistic approach in the Malibu beach house represented how little they really have going on in their relationship. The storyline may have been much simpler than "Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf," but all the more insightful, and much more animalistic at its core.
Meander, released in 2021, is a French gory horror film featuring a woman trapped in small spaces as she fights for her life, paralleling real pandemic life.
"His Girl Friday" set the bar for romcoms and gave us a feminist heroine before feminism was cool.
