'Meshes of the Afternoon' Enters the Realm of Sci-Fi

Pequi is an awkward saci who believes he's unlucky for having been born with his left foot. To fix this, he sets off on a fun adventure through the Folclórica forest with his friend Teobaldo and the brave curupira Ingá. Along the way, they face challenges and encounter magical creatures from Brazilian folklore.

We sat down with Writer/Director Albert Acosta to discuss his debut short film, (ha-ha), Acosta's foray into narrative cinema, and how his personal experiences have shaped his filmmaking philosophy.

Wild Child tells the story of a wealthy, spoiled teenage girl named Poppy Moore who lives in Malibu, California, who attends a boarding school in England. This film shows us how Poppy is first labeled as a fish out of water compared to her boarding school classmates, as she is a wild child, but eventually earns her roommates' friendships and respect.
