Eight years after her defeat in an Olympic final, sabre fencer Marina Yakovleva decides to return to elite-level sport, aiming to win the World Championship and prove that her story is not yet over. She begins training under Adarov—a legendary coach who has since been all but forgotten—who unexpectedly brings her long-time rival, Olympic champion Karina Grigoryan, back onto the national team.
